Job Title: Integrated Supply Chain Manager
Location: Shanghai, China
Position Summary:
Manage the planning, organizing and controlling of all the supply chain activities. Works with the appropriate functions on a long-term basis to define the business needs and then to develop strategies to satisfy those needs in the most cost effective and customer focused way. Ensures an appropriate level of customer satisfaction at all times. Ensures that the supply chain processes in the region are capable of meeting the longer-term needs of the business. Develops, agrees and implements short-term contingency plans to address possible failings.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide support for the Planning and Forecasting groups to remove roadblocks and help them to deliver quality services to Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, the Business Units and the external Customers.
- Manages all processes from the initial raw materials to the ultimate consumption of the final product across the supplier, user companies and key function areas, inside and outside the company, that enable the value chain to make products and/or provide services to the customer.
- Define, develop and implement strategies, in collaboration with appropriate functions, to address the needs of the business, including:
- Customer service levels – definition by customer and measurement processes,
- Inventory management, by grade and pack type,
- Stock level policies and distribution networks,
- Warehouse needs and capacity – indirectly lead times,
- Distribution needs and networks, and
- Optimization for supplier deliveries to get the "best" for both parties (Win/Win). - Define business strategies to address defined issues, such as capacity management, VMI, EDI, E-Business, Consignment Stocks and 3rd party logistics. Translate business strategy into clearly defined logistics activities and projects, which includes developing and validating action plans, facilitating "buy in" from appropriate parties and functions, and communicating status and changes on an ongoing basis.
- Be an active member of the Regional Logistics Management Team and manage all internal and external communications around supply chain planning and customer activities to provide an efficient and effective link between the customer and manufacturing.
- Continually review the regions supply chain processes and tools and evaluate the existing system for windows of opportunity to recommend and offer guidance and counsel to the regional logistics function around possible areas for development and/or improvement. Assist with implementation of agreed improvements in supply chain process and tools.
- Effectively practice Performance Based Management by coaching and developing employees, direct as well as matrix reports, and assuring effective alignment with the matrix functions.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and standard business practices as they pertain to purchasing and inventory management functions, including internal control and ISO 9000 standards
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of the purpose and performance of the goods and services he/she provides internally and externally.
- Business management skills including the ability develop, translate and manage strategy, to formulate and monitor budgets, expenses, and to manage costs.
- Comprehension of a matrix management environment and the ability to monitor, and manage the performance of as well as the development of staff.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the aptitude to impact and influence all levels of employees and management, both inside the company and externally with suppliers.
- Good negotiation and problem solving skills.
- Ability to monitor, and manage the performance of as well as the development of staff.
- Good comprehension of manufacturing and distribution capabilities of plants.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor/University degree or higher degree in Science supported by a business degree (MBA preferred).
- A qualification in the field of field of logistics, transportation or materials management (CPIM preferred).
- At least 10 years in a Logistics Operational group that exemplified strong leadership skills (at least 3 should be in a plant role and at least 3 in a staff role).
- Logistics experience in planning activities downstream or upstream, transport organization, inventory management and transactional system (ECSS or any other standard ERP)
- Practical experience of Inventory Management, Direct customer contact and Material Planning and Production Scheduling Systems.
